Is this cryptocurrency investment platform a scam?
Fake investment apps show made-up profits, then demand fees or taxes when you try to withdraw.
“Your investment has grown to $84,000. Deposit the 10% tax today to unlock your withdrawal.”
Why this is suspicious
A dashboard can display any balance the scammer wants. Paying a release fee, tax, or verification deposit usually leads to more demands rather than a withdrawal.
Warning signs
- A new online friend introduced the platform
- Returns appear guaranteed or unusually consistent
- You must pay more money to withdraw
- The company cannot be verified with regulators
What to do next
- Do not make another deposit
- Contact your bank or exchange immediately if you paid
- Save wallet addresses, transaction IDs, and messages
- Report the platform to the FTC and FBI IC3
